I’ve come up with four rating lists. The first one is Top 11 Charleston Area Scholastic Players. I chose a definition of, playing more than half of their tournaments in the Charleston area. So without further ado…

Registration:  Saturday 8-9:30am  Entry fee: $20 if received by 1/20/10; $25 at site

Prizes:  Trophies to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each section plus free one year USCF membership

Time control:  Game/30mins.    Rounds:  Saturday, 10am, 1pm, 2:30pm, 4pm

In four USCF rated sections:  K-3, K-5, K-8, & K-12 (Sections may be combined for pairing purposes, if necessary.)

USCF & SCCA memberships required for the above sections (SCCA memberships for S.C. residents only;not required for out-of-state players).  (Available on site or online at “uschess.org”.)

SPECIAL NON-RATED BEGINNERS SECTION:  4 rounds  Game/30mins.  Open to beginning players.  No USCF membership required (Any scholastic players new to the USCF tournament play is eligible for this section.)  (Does not count toward Grand Prix.)  Special Entry fee:  $15   Prize for top finisher is free one year USCF membership.

!!  Bring your board, set and clock ( if available).

Note:  1/2 pt. byes available any round, but must be requested at least 1/2 hr. before the start of any round.
